Sincerely, Your Valentine!

Yet another day of love! Oh… the much awaited Valentine’s Day is here!!

In school, teachers searched our desks to check for love letters and gifts draped in red fancy wrappers. The smartest of the lot got away without being caught! What a victory it was considered to be! In college, the lovers spent the entire day on stone benches, sharing their dreams for a bright and a romantic tomorrow! Girls looked all the more pretty in red salwar kameez and guys – cute in red shirts! Principal chased them away when seen intimately! How harshly the sisters in convent hostel stood against love! Hence a few girls in hostel celebrated the day eating strawberries to their hearts content!

That was a quick recap of my Valentine’s Day memories!

And this time, I ate a heart shaped donut …giving hi-five to all those romantic hearts out there!
Here is wishing all of you a fabulous, peaceful, lovely and an absolutely romantic life ahead!

A note to Sena folks from St. Valentine:

Children,

I know; you have been sincerely trying hard to tackle the romantic problems of the nation. Since I am one of your well wishers, I would like to bring a few things to your notice!

I guess you don’t realize that except for idiots like you, nobody appreciates your activities. Majority of the country honestly feel that you guys are a bunch of losers!! By the way, this is something I always wanted to ask you - don’t you have better things in life to do, other than attack girls who harmlessly spend time with their loved ones? Let them drink, let them dance, let them have fun… why the hell are you guys bothered?

After all, the nation suffers from umpteen more serious problems which demands immediate attention. So, this is a humble request from me, a priest who is not resting in peace… please divert your energy, time and interests towards revitalizing your country’s bloody politicians, a.k.a The Shameless Looters!

Wishing you good luck,
St. Valentine

Why blame Shiv Sena? Your convent sisters are no better. :p

Disclaimer: I'm not a Shiv Sainik.

Dear St. Valentine,
Don’t you have better things in after-life to do, other than preaching the folks of Shiv Sena? :p

Anyway, me too not in favor of Valentine's Day. I think every day is to be celebrated, when it comes to being in love! :)

@ Meety - :)

@ Nona - That s true! And glad to know that u don't belong to that category! :P

@ Haree - Poor St.Valentine - with all good intension was just trying to lead them through the right path! :P :P
Yes, and i totally agree... i don't think anybody would wait for a particular day to express their love!

@ essentialassociate - I thought of doing that! But then, I don;t want to die too early! :P

Hey am totally against the concept of valentines day!!! Nothing to do with culture, tradition or anything!! Simply because i dont have anyone to spent valentines day with!!! :P

Shiv sena heard this and following was their reply...

Hi Pyare valentine,

We are not against your thoughts of love... we welcome love for the country, love for the people. Kindly advice couples to express love in the house.

why are people interested in exposing themselves on this day. We see girls wearing red "shorts" as if the remaining would have cost them a 10 grand extra. Even boys are not properly fed by parents and seen with pants leaving their waist...

We understand that your western economy follows kiss as an expression of greeting people. However, my people are interested in greeting each other even on the bus stand...

We are not against archies gallery or walmart... we understand we are part of the so referred "F" looters, but let us have a job... how long can we sit at home, watch television and earn this way... it is boring... Let us do something interesting... at least correcting the ones who were never monitored by their parents.

With regards,
aapka SS

Shalini Surendran... nahi SS means Shiv Sena

@ Rohan - Hahaha.. that was a hilarious comment! Anyways, hope things will be in favor of you next year! All the best!
However, don't forget to update me next year! :P :P

@ Abhilash - Oh, Shiv Sena-ji... thanks a lot for reverting so soon. I guess we should sit around a table and discuss to reach a consensus .

Haha! Loved the letTer to Shiv Sena. Its not about being for or against Valentine's Day, its about letting people live the way they want. I may not approve of what someone else is doing, but I don't have the right to tell him not to do it (unless it's illegal). Shiv Sena just doesn't have its brains screwed the right way! :D

i doubt if things will be any different next year!!! :(

People put so much effort to get noticed ... if opposing valentine's day will get them attention, why not?

Its not just the siva sainiks, there are ram sainiks too :) all of them want attention or want to show their influenze. nothing to do with ideology

Having said that, I guess enough people with common sense (u included) are raising their voices against this non-sense and that is showing some results

@ Neena - you said it Neena. You have very well summarized my thoughts!

@ Rohan - Thankfully, didn't hear of anything! Perhaps, they have read this letter :P :P

@ sandeep - Thanks, for sharing your thoughts...

You asked, and you received. Don't get all butt-hurt.

Hello, new here etc. Shinerpunch gave you a happy puppy and that just had to be checked out. Not often that a desi blog gets a puppy. Well done, I say! :) Duly added to feed reader.

If the Shiv Sena wanted to burn down all the Archies Galleries in this country, I wouldn't cry. All that ghastly red and those over priced cards and those happy teddys, and the slimy messages propagated to guilt people like me into BUYING SOMETHING FOR YOUR BOYFRIEND - gets my goat.

Who says romance is dead.

@ Shinerpunch - Thanks a lot! :)

@ Nimpipi - Welcome to my blog! And thanks a lot; however I felt they literally ripped me off! ;) ;)
